The original upper-door insert has a hollow internal profile. After years of repeated door pressure, it can flatten in on itself and stop pushing the outer weatherstrip firmly toward the body. Rebuild Compression Where Water Enters—and Where It Exits

Wrangler door seals have two critical compression zones. The upper A-pillar area controls water leaving the Freedom panel gutter. The midpoint section helps direct that water outward. When either area loses its shape, water can move past the weakened seal and into the Jeep.
